Where we decide what shall be read, and how it shall be read
Fabulae, the tool, is the reason Scripti, the platform, exists. It is the place where all fabula live, and where readers choose how they wish to encounter them.
Everything in the system is built in service of Fabulae: a living library of fabula that can be entered again and again. The choice is yours to not necessarily reread it in the same way, but to re-experience it. Reframe it. Re-feel it.
Think of it this way: The play Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, while inhabiting the same world, is not the same experience as the play Hamlet. The Wizard of Oz is not Wicked is not The Wiz. These are not retellings so much as different paths through the same narrative world — the same reality, observed from another angle, each reshaping the experience without breaking the world.
This is similar to how we all move through a shared world (or mundi), but our arcs within it can be radically different. Two people can experience the same events and come away with entirely different impressions shaped by who they are, what they’ve lived through, and what they’re ready to see.
Fabulae makes that multiplicity intentional. It is the place where a reader doesn’t just consume a story, but chooses how to enter it, which character to follow, which author to experience, which emotional register to inhabit, which perspective to privilege.
Think of a fabula as a narrative cube, and a story as a thread that wanders through it.
Some threads follow a single character closely. Others trace a theme, a relationship, or a sequence of events.
Fabulae makes these threads visible and navigable. Readers can choose to follow a curator shaped thread. These curated threads are invitations: this is how I experienced this world, you might like it too.
But Fabulae does not stop at selection. Readers can create their own threads choosing what to follow, what to emphasize, and what to leave behind. In doing so, the boundary between reader and creator begins to blur. A personal reading path can thus become a shared one.
This means that over time, a fabula becomes not a single narrative, but a living tapestry of perspectives authored, curated, and re-curated by the people who pass through it.
Fabulae is not limited to a single form.
Stories can be experienced digitally with images, music, video, and illustration. They can also be bought as books that you can hold, keep, and return to. These are not generic outputs, but configurable ones.
The reader can choose the format that fits their relationship to the story. A digital version for exploration and layering. A physical book designed down to the details: the cover, the paper, the ink, the illustrations. The story remains the same thread, but the vessel changes.
This freedom of format is intentional. When readers decide how a story is embodied (how it looks, feels, and lives in the world) they too are becoming creators. Fabulae treats format not as an afterthought, but as part of the narrative act itself.
The result is simple but powerful: a story that does not end at interpretation, but continues into material form shaped by the reader’s taste, mood, and intent, and with Fabulae as the navigation tool that enables it all.
